The Spring Budget has failed to recognise the importance of connectivity infrastructure in supporting growth for the UK's digital economy, says Evolve CEO Alan Stephenson-Brown, who seeks more clarity as networks continue to be rolled out.

nexfibre has published its first quarterly update on the progress of its nationwide rollout and planned build locations for 2024.
As of 30th September 2023, the company had passed (ready for service) 505,303 premises as part of its total build plan of addressing five million homes and businesses by the end of 2026.
The build will see the business expand its footprint across the UK, including significant coverage in Cheshire, Kent, Durham, and with both Wales and Scotland being well-served.
Rajiv Datta, CEO of nexfibre, said: “We believe strongly in the quality and capability of our network, and the lasting value it can create in communities across the country.
“By increasing choice for ISPs, and boosting competition, we are playing a key role in closing the digital divide.”
