Borderlink, which trades as GoFibre, has received a further £164m investment from Gresham House to accelerate its full fibre rollout in Scotland and the north of England.
CityFibre has confirmed 14 more Gigabit Cities are being prepared for full fibre rollouts.
This second phase of roll outs extend CityFibre's Gigabit City programme by a further million homes " now totalling over two million homes across 26 towns and cities.
The new cities named are Batley, Bradford, Derby, Dewsbury, Doncaster, Inverness, Ipswich, Leicester, Lowestoft, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Rotherham, Slough, Swindon and Worthing.
