Virgin Media O2 is investing in its early career scheme with plans to hire around 200 graduates, interns and apprentices this year.

Fibrus and its network build partner Viberoptix have committed to creating at least 90 apprenticeships covering a range of roles from underground and overhead cabling to surveying.
Eight local people have begun their apprenticeships at the new Viberoptix Training Academy at the refurbished Newton Rigg College near Penrith.
This follows an extensive refit that includes offices, training rooms and around 30 poles in a practice field. The facility is also being used for training courses for Viberoptix staff.
Over the autumn, the trainees, all from the local area, will acquire formal telecoms qualifications, alongside in-class training specific to telecoms and field-based experience.
Upon completion all will be offered permanent employment with Viberoptix, working on Fibrus build projects.
This has been possible due to the £108 million Project Gigabit contract win by Fibrus, which will deliver gigabit connections to around 60,000 rural premises across rural Cumbria.
