Broadway Partners, which collapsed into insolvency in May this year, is expected to be acquired by a consortium of Tiger Infrastructure Partners and Macquarie, reports Sky.

Currently, Macquarie owns a stake in Voneus whilst Tiger backs SWS Broadband

The report states that a deal may be struck as soon as the end of this week, structured as a takeover by Voneus. This would save the remaining 40 jobs at Broadway.

The altnet secured £145m from Downing LLP in 2021 to support its ambitions of connecting 250,000 homes and businesses by 2025.

Its focus was to deliver fibre connectivity to rural communities across Wales and Scotland, and as such has a footprint that currently covers Arran, Ayrshire, Perth &Kinross, Monmouthshire and Pembrokeshire.
