Wildanet has strengthened its team with a trio of strategic appointments as it steps up the deployment of its new gigabit enabled full fibre network.
Gigaclear has appointed Hugo Eales as Chief Financial Officer as the altnet provider develops its strategy to generate economic value and serve more rural communities, funded by the government’s Project Gigabit.
Hugo has an extensive career in the ISP and technology sector, including Chief Financial Officer responsibilities across both private and publicly listed companies, with his most recent role as CFO EMEA at DXC Technology where he led the finance and commercial teams across the region.
Prior to his role at DXC, Hugo was the CFO of Colt Technologies.
Nathan Rundle, CEO at Gigaclear, said: “Hugo has 20 years of experience operating at board level in a variety of executive roles for large, complex, global organisations both in the UK and overseas, and his insight and tenacity will be invaluable to us as we push on with our mission to generate economic and social value for the communities and customers we serve.”
Eales commented: “The opportunity here is to focus on ultra rural areas of the country, and I will be helping Gigaclear to drive economic growth by reducing the digital divide that exists between rural and urban areas.”
Interim Chief Financial Officer Paul Hooper-Keeley will remain at Gigaclear in the short term to assist the transition and close the financial year.
