Virgin Media O2 has successfully connected 1,000 mobile masts to its proprietary 10Gbps fibre backhaul network, enabling faster data speeds, lower latency and a more reliable mobile network experience for customers.
Elevate, the recent rebrand of Telcom and Luminet, will connect more London business premises to fibre thanks to a strategic partnership with altnet provider Vorboss.
The agreement means that Elevate Wholesale, the channel partner division of Elevate, will be able to reach more London businesses than before via the existing Vorboss fibre infrastructure across the capital.
Vorboss has deployed 500km of its own dedicated point-to-point fibre optic cables across Central London (covering most of zones 1 and 2) over the past few years, which can potentially connect all commercial buildings in the area to their direct internet access and Ethernet network.
Vorboss owns and manages its own fibre network across central London, and the partnership should allow Elevate customers Ethernet service speeds up to 100Gbps.
Elevate Wholesale channel partners will be able to order Vorboss lines through the ElevateWholesale Portal, along with securing enhanced commercial and operational support as part of the strategic deal.
The move will complement Elevate’s rooftop point to point wireless network, which is already established across London covering over 80,000 businesses under the Luminet brand.
Andy Tatlock, CRO at Elevate, said: “Our partnership with Vorboss expands the footprint and services we can offer in the London area.
“At the same time, we’re consolidating access options into one Portal, so partners can easily get access to the best infrastructure options required.”
