Fibrus has committed a further £60,000 to its fight against digital poverty in Northern Ireland.

The tranche will be distributed by Community Foundation NI focusing on grassroots organisations that support older people and young people (aged 18 and under).

Fibrus has already provided funding of just under £60,000 since September 2021, benefitting nearly 5,000 people from across Northern Ireland.

Projects supported so far include providing devices to Sensory Kids in Ballymena and iPads for St Joseph’s Primary School in Cookstown as additional learning tools for pupils.

Linda McMillan, Chief People Officer at Fibrus, said: “It is important to us to support projects that are specifically aimed at young people who have a need for increased access to technology or connectivity, and initiatives that combat digital exclusion amongst the elderly or those most vulnerable in our society.
