Ofcom has informed providers that the One Touch Switch system may not be ready for the already delayed launch date of 12th September 2024.
The One Touch Switching Company (TOTSCo) has given a planned go-live date of Thursday 14th March 2024 for One Touch Switching.
This system is designed to help broadband users change providers. Under the new process, customers would only have to contact their new provider to switch and provide compensation if things go wrong with the process.
The body will also be making the TOTSCo hub will be available in a test environment from the 4th of September for users to start integration testing.
From 20 October, a production environment will be added for industry trials using live data.
CEO Paul Bradbury said: “I have witnessed a live demonstration of the hub in the systems integration environment. This gives me great confidence in our delivery of the hub earlier than anticipated.
“Hub delivery is only a stepping stone, and as an industry, we are now looking ahead to OTS go-live.”
