Ofcom has informed providers that the One Touch Switch system may not be ready for the already delayed launch date of 12th September 2024.
TOTSCo has chosen Tech Mahindra to design, build and operate a message-exchange platform, named TOTSCo Hub, for its OTS system.
The platform created will look to facilitate easy integration of delivery and operations teams across multiple domains such as business, IT, infrastructure, and security.
Paul Bradbury, CEO, TOTSCo, said: “Alongside Tech Mahindra we will deliver a secure, robust, and reliable platform that will play a central role in UK residential fixed broadband and voice switching.”
During 2024, TOTSCo gave a planned go-live date of Thursday 14th March 2024 for One Touch Switching, after the initial April 3rd deadline was missed.
Vikram Nair, President - EMEA Business, Tech Mahindra, added: “Ofcom has laid out a clear task for the communications industry to provide gainer-led, one-touch switching for residential customers.
“Through this strategic partnership, Tech Mahindra will develop an industry-wide messaging platform enabling customers to switch between communication providers seamlessly.”
