Wildanet is celebrating a double-milestone in its £77m rollout of full fibre broadband in Cornwall as part of Project Gigabit, and has now connected a total of 10,000 premises in the first two phases across the south west and central parts of the region.

BDUK’s latest quarterly statistics report reveals how many premises have received a gigabit-capable broadband connection through the agency’s subsidy between 1st April 2024 and 31 December 2024.
It estimates BDUK interventions delivered 113,700 premises with gigabit-capable coverage in the period, taking the total up to 1,188,400 since conception.
Of these, 38% (43,400) were delivered under the Government Infrastructure Subsidy Scheme, inclusive of Project Gigabit contracts, a further 38% (42,900) were delivered by vouchers and the final 24% (27,500) came through Superfast and Hubs programmes.
Breaking this down regionally, 78,100 of these premises were in England, 22,900 were in Scotland,8,000 were in Wales, and 4,800 were in Northern Ireland
The paper considers both directly subsidised premises as well as uncommercial premises that received connections as a result of nearby BDUK funded projects.
