The number of homes able to get gigabit-capable broadband is up to 24.0 million (80% of all UK homes), according to Ofcom’s Connected Nations Spring 2024 update. This is up 78%, from 23.2 million since its update in September 2023.
brsk’s is extending its greater Manchester network, which currently addresses 150,000 homes, to Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside.
The altnet is also looking to address underserved areas in surrounding counties, expanding into neighbouring Cheshire, launching in Wilmslow.
The launch of full fibre in Wilmslow will enable brsk to connect more than 15,000 new homes to its network.
