nexfibre has published its latest quarterly build update (Q1 2025), which shows its 10GBps FTTP/XGS-PON broadband network now covers 2.2m UK premises, with scaled back coverage target for 2025 to 2.5m premises passed, reducing future build plans for the next year.

CityFibre is set to invest £17m in a new town-wide network that will bring fibre enabled services within reach of almost every home and business in Loughborough.
Construction work will begin in the Storer area and as work is completed in each neighbourhood, CityFibre will designate the homes as ready for service.
Area Manager James Cushing said: “Loughborough’s town-wide full fibre network will transform the town’s digital capabilities for decades to come.”
Cllr Pam Posnett, Cabinet Member for Community and Staff Relations at Leicestershire County Council, added: “This is a great boost for Loughborough residents, helping people to work and connect with others.”
