GoFibre has launched a new campaign to highlight the faster speeds available to residents on networks in ten towns or regions across Scotland and the north of England, as it commits to bringing the benefits of full fibre broadband to communities in more rural areas.
CityFibre has completed the primary-build of its full fibre network in Bracknell – the latest town in its nationwide rollout, meaning that over 30,000 residents are now ready for service.
Construction began on the £20m project in 2021 and while the primary-build is now complete, CityFibre will continue to explore opportunities to connect more homes and businesses across the region.
Residents in Bracknell will be able to access speeds of up to 2.5Gbps, from a range of ISPs, with the potential for 10Gbps speeds in the future.
Neil Madle, Partnership Manager at CityFibre, said: “Our rollout in Bracknell marks a step forward for digital connectivity across the town.
“Full fibre is vital for the UK market’s long-term growth, and we look forward to building on our previous success powering the town’s future economic development.”
Cllr Paul Bidwell, cabinet member for economy and regeneration at Bracknell Forest Council, said: “Fast reliable internet services are a key part of the connectivity agenda within the council’s economic strategy.
“This fuels business growth, leading to greater prosperity for all Bracknell residents.”
