A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
CityFibre has now laid 777km of full fibre across Swindon as part of its £40m investment to upgrade the town’s digital infrastructure.
This represents enough infrastructure to lap Swindon Town Football Club’s pitch at County Ground more than 2,360 times.
CityFibre has now connected thousands of premises across Stratton, Pinehurst and Moredon to its full fibre network.
Area Manager Neil Madle said: “We’re well on our way to making the town world-class in terms of its digital infrastructure, and residents will reap the benefits for decades to come.
Cllr David Renard, Leader of Swindon Borough Council, added: “This is a major investment for our town and much needed to ensure that our digital infrastructure can serve the needs of residents and local businesses for years to come.”
In Swindon, services are available from launch partner Vodafone while TalkTalk and Giganet have announced they will join the network soon.
