Lancaster City Council has activated a 30km fibre network connecting Lancaster, Morecambe and Heysham and developed in collaboration with local network specialists The Networking People (TNP).

Alncom will connect 200 of the hardest to reach premises in and around the rural community of Rothbury Northumberland through a £1.4 million project.

Quickline is helping rural homes and businesses across Lincolnshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire access full fibre broadband by rolling out its network in the area through Project Gigabit.

The first Project Gigabit contract has been signed by GoFibre to bring faster broadband to rural areas of Scotland, that will allow around 11,000 Scottish homes and businesses to benefit from the rollout across the country.

LightSpeed has connected 2,700 more homes and businesses in Cromer and Sheringham that will now benefit from speeds of up to 2Gbps, helping to increase internet connection quality in the county's suburban areas. 

More than 14,000 more homes in Filey and Pickering can now access Virgin Media’s gigabit broadband services.
