CityFibre’s rollout in York is entering new areas of the city including Clifton Moor, Fulford, parts of Huntington and the City Centre. Construction is being delivered by MakeHappen Group.

The regional rollout is due to reach completion in 2024 where almost every home and business will have access to fibre services via Vodafone, TalkTalk, Giganet, Zen, IDNET, No One and Hyperfiber.

Kim Johnston, Regional Partnership Director for CityFibre, said: “We are pleased to be back building in York, boosting the area's digital capabilities and making it one of the best-connected cities in Britain.”

Roy Grant, Head of ICT at City of York Council, added: "Fast and reliable connectivity is essential for our communities. The way we work and connect with each other is evolving, and the rise of hybrid working and media streaming means that improved digital access has never been more important.”
