A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
CityFibre’s £30m fibre rollout in Preston is entering its next phase of construction, with homes in Frenchwood and Fishwick going live.
Build partner Network Plus is now working in Ribbleton, Holme Slack, Deep Dale, Gallows Hill and Grange.
Once the city-wide rollout reaches completion in 2024, almost every home and business locally will have access to services via Vodafone, TalkTalk, Giganet and others.
Area Manager Julie Derbyshire said: “Digital infrastructure has become the cornerstone of modern day life, and the people we have spoken to say they are reaping the benefits of fibre broadband.”
Cllr Borrow, Cabinet Member for Planning and Regulation at Preston City Council said: “Preston is currently undergoing a huge transformation of its digital infrastructure which will benefit residents for years to come.”
