nexfibre’s network reach has expanded to 1,557,000 premises ready for service and is on track to pass the two million milestone by the end of the year.
Community Fibre has passed over 500,000 homes and 116,000 businesses as part of its full fibre rollout in London.
This milestone was aided by the recently secured £100m facility from a syndicate of existing and new banks.
CEO Graeme Oxby said: “With over 500,000 homes now able to connect we are well on our way to reaching our accelerated goal of reaching 2.2 million homes by the end of 2024.”
The altnet will add to the 29 boroughs it is currently active in, with immediate plans to add Haringey and Havering to the list. It has already connected and is providing free broadband to 300 community centres across London with more planned.
Two hundred of the largest London landlords have granted Community Fibre permission to enable over 670,000 properties, with more agreements soon to be announced.
