AllPoints Fibre Networks has agreed a new multi-million-pound partnership with BT Wholesale as it continues to expand the reach of its full fibre broadband offering.
Around 40,000 BT Group workers will hold their second two-day strike regarding pay on Tuesday August 30 and Wednesday August 31 following legal notice from the Communications Workers Union (CWU).
BT has responded by affirming its position that the 2022 pay review will not be reopened.
“We know that our colleagues are dealing with the impacts of high inflation and, although we’re disappointed, we respect their decision to strike, said a BT spokesperson.
“We have made the best pay award we could, and we are in constant discussions with the CWU to find a way forward from here. In the meantime, we will continue to work to minimise any disruption and keep our customers and the country connected”.
BT staff ended a 35-year run of industrial peace on Friday 29th July and Monday 1st August 2022 when employees began their first strike.
“There’s no doubt that we were as solid as we could have been in the first industrial action and I have no doubt that will be repeated,” said Deputy General Secretary Andy Kerr.
“We’re still hoping to get BT back round the table for serious negotiations, but as things stand it has sadly become clear that simply isn’t going to happen unless we take further action.”
