A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
Rt Hon Dame Rosie Winterton DBE, Member of Parliament for Doncaster Central, was recently welcomed by CityFibre and build partner Heneghans for a tour of the works in Edenthorpe, giving her a closer look at the £25m citywide project.
Winterton was given demonstrations of the typical build process, including excavation and reinstatement.
She said: “The potential benefits this investment will bring to Doncaster and our local communities are huge.”
Natalie Ward, CityFibre’s Area Manager for Doncaster, added: “According to recent Hatch research, in Doncaster alone, our network is expected to unlock £215m in productivity and innovation, as well as deliver a £125m increase in house value.”
In Doncaster, services are available from Vodafone, Zen, Air Broadband, EdenOak, Giganet, IDnet, Octaplus, Pure, Quickline, TalkTalk, Trunk and Yayzi.
