Emtelle expands HBNL partnership to bolster Scottish connectivity

Emtelle is helping to boost connectivity across Scotland, and has deepened its established strategic partnership with Highland Broadband (HBNL) to accelerate full fibre infrastructure rollout in rural communities following a recent £50m of new funding.

The partnership will see both companies advancing their shared mission: to help connect Scotland – and HBNL has already connected around half of rural premises in the Highlands with full fibre networks.

Highland Broadband recently secured a £50m capital injection: £40m from Alpha Real Capital and a further £10m from the Scottish National Investment Bank, which positions the altnet provider to reach over 150 towns and villages within the coming year, having already connected over 50% of all the rural homes throughout the Highlands.

Emtelle will play a central role in helping to deliver this programme, supplying full fibre and ducting solutions, technical support, and deployment expertise.

Gavin Rodgers, CEO of Highland Broadband, said: “This injection of £50m of new capital means we have the funding as well as the capability to continue network expansion throughout rural Scotland.

“Building networks is about having the right partners by your side, and together with Emtelle, we can roll out a resilient, future-proof network that will bring genuine change to the communities we serve.”
