nexfibre has reported just under 1.3 million premises passed in its latest quarterly update, up from 986,000 in the previous report.

The number of homes able to get gigabit-capable broadband is up to 24.0 million (80% of all UK homes), according to Ofcom’s Connected Nations Spring 2024 update. This is up 78%, from 23.2 million since its update in September 2023.
Full fibre coverage is now at 18.7 million homes (62%). This represents an increase of 5% in the four months between September 2023 and January 2024. It marks a significant increase from 48% year on year.
The report found that superfast broadband coverage across the UK overall remains at 97%.
The number of premises unable to get access to decent (>10Mps download speed) broadband, when factoring in fixed wireless and fixed line networks, has dropped from 61,000 to 57,000 premises.
