A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
Gigaclear’s network rollout now passes more than 300,000 premises, up from 250,000 in December.
The milestone was reached in May 2022 and includes over 250,000 properties that are ready to connect.
CEO Gareth Williams said: “Our build rate has accelerated over the past year because we have added experience to our teams, we have a better understanding of existing rural infrastructure, we’ve regionalised and we’re always innovating.
“Our approach is to tackle the most difficult areas in our network footprint first by making good use of Government subsidy. This allows us to infill in less challenging build areas like the nearby market towns in the coming months and years ahead.”
Gigaclear will announce further build activity to new communities in the coming months.
