Openreach’s financial results for the nine months to 31 December 2022 reveals that the operator has passed 9.6 million premises reached to date, with 29% of those connected.
Hyperoptic grew its revenues from £65.1m in 2021 to £78.7m for the financial year ending 31st December 2022, a 21% increase.
The altnet’s gross profit also increased to £62.3m, up from £52.5m the previous year.
Two milestones spurred this growth during period as the altnet passed its millionth premise and connected its 250,000th customer.
By the end of the year, Hyperoptic was at 266,856 subscribers, an addition of 42,776. It did not increase its APRU from this base.
The altnet focuses on MDUs in both existing and new developments and is available at selected sites in 64 UK towns and cities.
The company said: “This business model will deliver long-term value by increasing penetration rates at existing sites, targeting attractive new sites and extending the company’s network reach to serve all forms of property types in selected towns and cities.”
