A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
O'Connor Utilities has broken ground in St Helens to kick off its £30m FTTH rollout project on behalf of CityFibre.
This marks the start of a three-year build programme due for completion in July 2025, connecting over 57,500 homes throughout the region to fibre.
Operations will be delivered by O’Connor’s in-house civils capability with the fibre and slicing being delivered by recent acquisition FKS.
Councillor Andy Bowden said: “This project will be carried out using the dig once approach, meaning it will be coordinated with existing road and infrastructure works, helping to minimise disruption”
O’Connors will begin work in Wigan later this quarter and is actively recruiting for various roles.
