CityFibre has completed the primary-build of its full fibre network in Hartlepool, and has helped connect more than 80 percent of residents, making it one of the best-connected locations in the UK.
Openreach has started work to build a new broadband network for Bannockburn, expanding across the region that has already connected more than 1,700 properties and is expected to reach most residents in the next six months.
More than half of properties in neighbouring Stirling are also now able to upgrade to full fibre.
The company is also working on a Fibre Community Partnership in Gargunnock, where it co-funds and builds new full fibre networks for clusters of homes not included in any other upgrade plans.
The scheme uses vouchers from both UK and Scottish Governments to fill the funding gap.
Robert Thorburn, Openreach Scotland Partnership Director, said: “Bannockburn is part of our balanced build across Scotland.
“Connecting everyone in Scotland to our fastest broadband would result in a multi-billion pound economic boost.”
Openreach’s new ultrafast full fibre network in Scotland now reaches more than 1.3m properties, and the company plans to roll out the new technology to 25m homes and businesses by the end of 2026, with an ambition to reach up to 30m by the end of the decade.
