Quickline is supporting C4DI (Centre for Digital Innovation) to deliver innovation days, training, mentoring and workshops and helping 60 businesses and entrepreneurs over the next three years, as part of its social value commitments to Project Gigabit across east Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Quickline has joined in partnership with Reel Creative to give youngsters in north Yorkshire a hands-on introduction to explore the latest advancements in virtual reality (VR) and robotics through activities at an interactive workshop designed to inspire the next generation of digital innovators.
Taking place in a community now connected to gigabit-capable broadband as part of Quickline’s Project Gigabit rollout, the workshop highlighted how high-speed connectivity is unlocking new opportunities for learning and creativity, equipping young people with future-ready skills.
The two-hour session featured a range of challenges including a creative exercise where children designed their own chocolate bars and wrappers, combining traditional sketching with digital design; an activity using virtual reality headsets that allowed pupils to step into immersive virtual worlds; and encounters with real robots to learn how they function.
Connor Moore, Quickline’s Social Value Lead in north Yorkshire, said: “This workshop in Hunmanby brought technology to life, showing children firsthand how tools like virtual reality and robotics can open up new possibilities for learning and creativity.”
Following the success of the Hunmanby event, Quickline and Reel Creative are now planning further workshops across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
