Openreach is celebrating the milestone of reaching 90% coverage of its full fibre rollout across Northern Ireland – with the region becoming the first within the Openreach UK network to hit this target.

WightFibre has now passed 70,000 homes and has connected 21,000 customers to its network, representing 80% coverage and 30% of the market share.
This has been fuelled by £3.1m in BDUK Gigabit Broadband Vouchers claimed to date.
Looking ahead the altnet remains on track to achieve 90% coverage on the island by the end of 2025, and 98% Coverage by 2027.
John Irvine, CEO of WightFibre, said: “Our secret sauce is localness, we’re rapidly becoming woven into the very fabric of the Isle of Wight.”
