Gigaclear and Essex County Council have reached a settlement agreement in relation to the legal proceedings concerning broadband delivery contracts in Essex.

As part of its expanding partnership, Xantaro is accelerating the development of Wildanet’s full fibre network in Cornwall where it will install fully integrated street cabinet and exchange solutions to maximise build speed, improve network resilience, and reduce maintenance costs.
The rollout has a two-year timeframe, which allows for a faster build pace while maintaining quality.
Xantaro’s experience in active equipment deployment, together with its long-standing partnership with Nokia, means that Wildanet can meet the government’s goals while maintaining long-term network reliability.
The company’s pre-configured street cabinets and exchange solutions enhance connectivity by incorporating key features such as an advanced cabinet design solution using a heat exchanger to reduce maintenance; Nokia Optical Line Terminals (OLT) to enable high-speed fibre connectivity with traffic management and network scalability; VIAVI centralised OTDR test heads for real-time fibre monitoring and fault detection; Out-of-band (OOB) management; smart locks from iLOQ; and environmental sensors to protect infrastructure from potential risks.
These integrated technologies within a fully pre-tested and configured solution will help give a faster network rollout for Xantaro.
Stephen Kingdom, Chief Technology Officer, Fixed Networks, Xantaro, commented: “Rolling out fibre networks at scale and speed requires smart infrastructure that not only accelerates deployment but also ensures long-term performance.
“Our fully integrated, pre-configured street cabinets allow altnets like Wildanet to deploy faster while reducing maintenance overhead.”
