Wildanet is celebrating a double-milestone in its £77m rollout of full fibre broadband in Cornwall as part of Project Gigabit, and has now connected a total of 10,000 premises in the first two phases across the south west and central parts of the region.

Alncom has begun work to extend its network in the heart of Alnwick, according to a report in the Northumberland Gazette.
The extension to the altnet’s network will cover Barresdale, Windsor Gardens, Cedar Grove and Fairfields, with the first connection already live.
Alncom’s has also connected its 1000th customer through its ongoing work in Alnwick.
Gareth Carter, Director of Alncom, added: “Every business needs to acknowledge the diverse needs of their local community and ultrafast broadband should be available to everyone.
“Undoubtedly, the true strength of Alncom lies in our deep connection with the community, with many of our staff living and working in the area.”
Alncom is actively recruiting local staff. It currently employs 70 people and is looking to take on approximately 20 more employees this year.
