FOLAN UK, the designer and manufacturer of equipment for optical fibre networks, has appointed Tim Landon as Product Manager responsible for the product strategy roadmap and revenue P&L.
He brings 25 years international telecoms wholesale experience in a career that began with the Royal Signals.
After leaving the military and completing a BSc in telecommunications and an MBA, Landon entered the international wholesale telecoms space in 1998 working in various product management, sales and management consultancy roles mainly in EMEA but also covering the US and APAC.
"I aim to bring my broad industry experience and passionate energy to deliver new products to new segments and diversify into broader and profitable markets while focusing on our core capabilities," stated Landon.
A key part of his strategy is to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering and marketing to bring new products to the market successfully.
Landon added: "All new products and enhancements are a team effort with sales validating customer needs and expected volumes, engineering informing on the design and implementation, marketing ensures we give the best chance of success both initially and over the life span of the product, while finance audits business cases for the investment required to meet company KPIs, but with a good NPV and payback within the overall framework."
