A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
Boldyn Networks is responding to Kingston upon Thames’ call for greater public security with a fibre network that will boost the borough’s CCTV systems.
The new network will provide connectivity to the 41 CCTV locations across which will record footage that is high enough quality to use as evidence in court. Boldyn is installing it with the aid of delivery partner, Virgin Media.
The project was funded by the Greater London Authority via Transport for London, and it forms part of the wider Mayor of London’s Connected London programme.
This complements the rollout of Boldyn Networks and Kingston Council’s pilot to deploy smart columns to boost mobile connectivity, improve council services and enhance public safety.
Theo Blackwell, Chief Digital Officer for London, said: “The introduction of the new fibre network also lay the foundations to positively transform local services in the future.”
Billy D’Arcy, CEO of UK & Ireland at Boldyn Networks, added: “High-quality digital infrastructure is an essential foundation for economic growth and innovation.”
