Gigaclear has started to connect 9,500 more Oxfordshire homes and businesses under Project Gigabit, in the second contract with total subsidy of £25.4m for the altnet provider to expand its network, covering areas across the north and south of the county.

BrawBand has shared its plans to expand its network across Scotland, doubling its coverage to 500,000 properties through CityFibre’s footprint.
The ISP will now offer gigabit broadband to properties in Aberdeen, Dundee and Stirling alongside its existing offering in Inverness and Renfrewshire.
It will also extend its services in Edinburgh and Glasgow, now covering all postcodes within the central belt cities.
David Munro, director of product at BrawBand operator Focus Group, said: “We firmly believe that everyone in Scotland deserves access to high speed internet yet Scotland has the least access to full-fibre broadband in the UK, with 48% of homes able to access it, compared to 92% in Northern Ireland.”
“By bringing BrawBand to even more homes than ever before, we ensure more people in Scotland have access to high quality internet.”
