Telenco is thriving in the UK fibre market as shifting altnet priorities favour suppliers that can prove flexibility and reactivity. Here, MD Clément Lesur explains why Telenco’s unique model positions it to help partners deliver connections with speed and quality.
D&A Commercial Cleaning has been collaborating with Fibrewave to ensure the company’s infrastructure rollout continues at pace.
Fibrewave is a telecoms company, that specialises in the design and build of telecommunications networks, this includes but is not limited to, the installation of internal and external cable, advanced splicing and testing services, and repair and maintenance of infrastructure.
The company has collaborated previously with D&A Commercial Cleaning, with its services used across the business.
D&A’s teams have supported Fibrewave with jetting machines which support the installation of sub-ducts within legacy networks. These services ensure the chambers that house cables and joints, are clean and free of water and silt, which would otherwise prevent Fibrewave’s engineers from accessing them.
The latest challenge
Fibrewave’s engineers are currently working in Portsmouth, installing 13 kilometres of cable to support the wider Vodafone network.
“We have faced several challenges throughout the Portsmouth project, including a 20-way duct that was heavily congested and silted,” said Jack Musgrove, Operational Manager Assistant at Fibrewave.
The solution
Fibrewave once again chose to leverage D&A’s expertise for the project, with its engineers supporting cabling teams and other subcontractors on the ground.
A team of two D&A engineers have helped clean up the duct at a rate of around 500m a day, enabling Fibrewave to pull its cabling through. The D&A team has also been doing critical traffic management work.
Musgrove adds: “Without the essential services D&A have provided, we wouldn't have been able to continue without civils intervention.
“Since D&A’s involvement on the project, daily productivity has increased by 33%, which has massively expedited the project’s progress.”
Daniel Stanbra, Contracts Manager at D&A stated: “We were delighted to once again help Fibrewave with their crucial work.
“Due to our extensive knowledge and experience, and our tried and tested methods, we are able to get the right men and equipment on the ground to get that job done properly.”
