Commsworld has transformed Northumberland County Council’s digital infrastructure with the recent completion of its core network build construction, ensuring residents benefit from better connectivity.
Over 8,500 March homes now have access to CityFibre’s full fibre network, approximately 80% of those in the town.
With the primary build now completed, CityFibre will continue to densify and connect properties in multi-dwelling buildings and on private roads.
Construction began on the £5m project in January last year and CityFibre has since laid almost 27km of dense full fibre infrastructure across the town.
Rebecca Stephens, CityFibre’s Regional Partnership Director, said: "March is one of the best connected places in the UK and the local community is only just beginning to tap into the benefits that are to come as full fibre offers ample economic opportunities for the town.”
Steve Barclay, MP for North East Cambridgeshire, added: “This marks a new chapter for March as we move into the digital age, where access to good broadband is essential and drives wider investment, opportunities and economic benefit.”
