CityFibre has completed the primary-build of its full fibre network in Ipswich, allowing over 70,000 homes in the region access, around 98% of the town’s properties – making it one of the best-connected locations in the UK.

Openreach is helping more than 140,000 homes and businesses across Cardiff to access full fibre broadband, thanks to its nationwide rollout, with around 80 per cent of properties across the city connected to ultra-fast speeds.
Work is ongoing to bring full fibre to more communities in and near the city using technology that gives a more reliable broadband connection and enables residents to connect multiple devices at gigabit-capable speeds and helps businesses trade online.
Martin Williams, Openreach Partnership Director for Wales said: “We believe that this new network will give businesses an edge and provide families and home-workers with future-proof connectivity.”
Openreach’s full fibre network now reaches more than 18m properties, and the company plans to extend this to 25m homes and businesses by the end of 2026, hoping to reach as many as 30m by the end of the decade.
