A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
CityFibre has named High Wycombe and Stockton as the next two locations set for full fibre with £23m and £28m investments being made respectively in the towns.
Construction work on the full fibre network will start in June in West Wycombe, with Instalcom appointed as build partner.
Area Manager, Neil Madle (pictured): “We cannot stress the importance of digital connectivity and the major benefits it will reap now and long into the future and can’t wait for residents and businesses to enjoy the results.”
CityFibre estimates that the rollout may transform the digital lives of around 125,000 people in High Wycombe.
Building in Stockton will begin later this year following Greg Mesch, CEO at CityFibre, meeting with Matt Vickers, MP for Stockton South, to finalise plans for the rollout at a new training facility that will skill-up CityFibre employees as part of the Government’s Way to Work campaign.
Greg Mesch, Chief Executive at CityFibre, said: “We are delighted to be adding Stockton to our nationwide full fibre rollout. Investments like this in the digital infrastructure of our towns and cities are critical to unlocking economic growth, new jobs and more efficient public services.”
