A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
CityFibre has provided updates on two of its regional builds, with work beginning in Lincoln and multiple areas going live in Eastbourne.
Neal Wright (pictured) has been appointed by CityFibre to spearhead the delivery of the £21m project that will connect nearly every home and business in the area to full fibre.
Wright is also currently responsible for overseeing CityFibre’s £21m full fibre rollout in Worcester, having previously led projects in Derby and Nottingham.
He said: “A state-of-the-art digital infrastructure plays a crucial role in growing and protecting local economies.”
Construction of the full fibre network is being delivered by Trust Utility Management on behalf of CityFibre.
On the south coast, CityFibre is making progress on its Eastbourne build with homes in the Hampden Park, Ratton, Old Town and Upperton areas ‘ready for service’.
Building in Eastbourne, being delivered by Lanes-i, is set for completion in 2024.
