A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
CityFibre has begun work in the Southtown and Cobham areas of Great Yarmouth as it kicks off its £15m town-wide fibre rollout.
Construction is being completed by Pod-Trak, working closely with CityFibre, Norfolk County Council and Great Yarmouth Borough Council.
Area Manager Charles Kitchin said: “This upgraded infrastructure will allow homes and businesses across the town to thrive in the digital age by providing access to lightning-fast and reliable internet services.
A spokesperson for Great Yarmouth Borough Council added: “Now more than ever, strong digital connectivity is central to business innovation and productivity, and the town will now have the ability to make the most of the new economic opportunities on offer through this infrastructure upgrade.”
