Wessex Internet has connected its first customer in South Wiltshire as part of an £18.8 million contract awarded by Project Gigabit, bringing faster broadband to around 14,500 residents across the region.
FACTCO’s full fibre network is now available to 450 properties in Darras Hall, following eight months of collaboration with the iNorthumberland Team.
Cllr Richard Wearmouth, Northumberland County Council's deputy leader and cabinet member for corporate services, said: “Better broadband speeds are a major part of our lives now, especially since the rapid growth of digital technology.
“Having access to the best broadband available not only accelerates business growth and improves access to entertainment but also helps people stay in touch with their friends and families much more conveniently.
FACTCO Community Sales Manager, Craig Morley, adds: “I’ve met some wonderful people on the journey so far and I’d like to thank the community for their support.”
