A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
Bracknell is set for a significant economic boost from CityFibre’s £20m fibre network rollout, according to a study by the consultancy Hatch.
Potential economic impacts include £288m in productivity and innovation gains, £63m from a widened workforce, £11m in Local Authority efficiency savings and £217m in increased housing value.
The study also states that CityFibre’s network will help realise £686m in gross added value from 5G services, £138m from the Internet of Things and £121m from Smart City initiatives, like intelligent traffic management systems and street lighting.
