GoFibre has donated much-needed new furniture to Burntisland First Aid as it moves to larger premises in the centre of Burntisland.
A charity football match between fibre rivals Lightning Fibre and Openreach has raised over £2,000 for the Children with Cancer Fund, Polgate.
The match took place at Eastbourne Borough Football Club, followed by a raffle and children’s entertainment.
The funds will go to support local hospitals, community nurses and families who assist in the care of the children with cancer under its remit in East Sussex, Brighton and Hove. The charity also grants wishes to children up to the age of 18 which can be practical, medical or fun.
Lightning Fibre’s post-match statement read: “As a local champion, Lightning Fibre is keen to present itself as a company that demonstrates care and interest in the local communities of the towns in which it operates.”
“This is evident in the devotion of their staff who frequently get involved in helping local causes such as the Children with Cancer Fund. Other local charities such as the hospices of St. Wilfrid’s in Eastbourne, and St. Michael’s in Hastings, have also benefited from an association with Lighting Fibre.”
