Over 7500 homes and businesses in Banbridge can connect to fibre services following the rollout of new broadband infrastructure by Fibrus Networks which began in early April.

The network will go live from the 29th of July, with the final phase going live at the end of August.

People living and working in Banbridge will have access to hyperfast full fibre broadband, with thousands more properties preparing to be added to the new network in the coming months.

Chief Delivery Officer, Conor Harrison said: “It is time to provide rural and regional areas right across Northern Ireland with strong connectivity services, especially as we are seen as being a hub for local businesses and start-ups.

“Many businesses have maintained a hybrid model of working for their employees, and similarly, accessing schoolwork online has become the new norm. Therefore, access to reliable broadband has become as essential as electricity and heating.

Fibrus aims to close the digital divide across Northern Ireland, having completed works across over 120,000 premises across the region.
