Freedom Fibre continues Armed Forces Covenant support

Freedom Fibre has reaffirmed its commitment to recognise and support those who have served in the military by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.

Alongside the company’s expanding infrastructure build and growth, including the rollout of broadband across North Shropshire and rural Cheshire, Freedom Fibre will create opportunities for the Armed Forces community through employment, upskilling and fundraising.

Veterans already play a key role across various departments including build, project management and engineering.

Steve Slingsby, who served in the Royal Engineers and is now Head of Build Assurance at Freedom Fibre commented: “My role at Freedom Fibre has provided me with ample opportunity to use my technical training, problem solving and adaptability skills, and I encourage others to explore the significant contribution they can make to the telecoms industry.”

The Armed Forces Covenant acknowledges the sacrifices made by service personnel and their families, who face unique challenges in their duty to protect the nation.

In return, the Covenant highlights the moral obligation to ensure fair treatment and equal opportunities.
