The west of England is stepping up its digital game with a new initiative that hopes to help unlock a £1.3 billion annual boost to the region’s economy powered by private investment in better broadband and mobile connectivity – a boost that will benefit the 16,000 local residents still not connected to superfast broadband.

Foresight Group has made a significant investment into F&W Networks, enabling the altnet to expand its fibre network which currently passes 185,000 premises in the south of England.
F&W is building fibre infrastructure in 21 towns and cities, including Surrey, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Greater London and West Sussex.
This new investment will enable F&W to accelerate its ambition to pass one million properties by 2025.
Carlos Bock, Executive Chairman of F&W Networks, said: “This partnership, with Foresight’s infrastructure investment capacities, will provide us with the ability to rapidly scale our roll-out.”
