Brsk has begun work in Salford to enable 25,000 homes and businesses in the city to access full fibre broadband.
Winchcombe and Cinderford in Gloucestershire have been added to Gigaclear’s full fibre rollout, bringing 8,000 new premises into the altnet’s network.
In Winchcombe, over 3.6km of fibre will be laid to connect just under 2,500 premises across the town. The first premises are set to go live as early as next month with the entire build scheduled for completion by Q4 22.
In Cinderford, 12.5 km of fibre will be laid to connect 5,500 premises, with the first set to go live in June 2022. The build will be completed by Q2 2023.
Jamie Flint, Regional General Manager at Gigaclear, said: “Our network has been firmly established across much of rural Gloucestershire thanks to our work with the Fastershire project and Building Digital UK (BDUK).
“Now, we are operating in the region on a commercial basis too, providing homes and businesses that have not been covered by Fastershire."
