A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
Gigaclear’s rollout is extending to 2,400 homes in Gomshall and nearby Westcott, as part of a £10m investment in Surrey to address a further 7,000 premises.
A further 2,590 homes and businesses in Wonersh are set to be connected before work is completed in spring 2024.
Central Delivery Director Ben Woods said: “Having access to reliable and fast broadband speeds is no longer a luxury but is necessary in order for many people to live their lives fully, whether it’s working from home, streaming or accessing other online entertainment.”
During the engineering work, Gigaclear will be utilising existing Openreach ducts and poles wherever possible to minimise disruption.
