Gigaclear rollout continues across south Oxfordshire

Gigaclear has connected more than 2,000 rural homes and businesses in Sonning Common to full fibre following the completion of the network extension across the region.

This means residents in the south Oxfordshire village, which is around 3.5 miles from Henley, can now enjoy faster internet speeds thanks to fibre optic cable installation that began in 2023.

Glynn Richardson, Senior Project Manager at Gigaclear said: “Taking our full fibre to rural communities that might otherwise have copper or an inferior part fibre broadband connection fundamentally changes them for the better because it creates choice for the people in those communities about how they work and how they live their lives."

The Abingdon-based company now employs more than 600 people and serves more than 130,000 customers across 26 counties.
