GoFibre is celebrating the one-year anniversary of bringing broadband to local communities in its hometown of Duns, helping connect over 10 percent of residents to full fibre.

The broadband provider has now connected more than 25,000 premises throughout the region.

Throughout the build process, GoFibre has placed emphasis on supporting local communities and causes including Borders Girls Rugby Club and the Melrose 7s, with plans for additional local community projects underway.

In support of ambitious growth plans, GoFibre is also committed to the recruitment of local talent; with a fifth of the company's workforce residing in the Scottish Borders, helping to earn the company recognition as a Highly Commended Borders Business of the Year in 2024.

An example of this is Gregor Watson, Head of Customer Service at GoFibre.

Originally from Duns, Watson started with GoFibre in an administrative role and has since advanced to a leadership position as Head of Customer Service.

Watson said: “By hiring local talent and understanding the unique needs of each area we serve, we’re ensuring that our customers and communities remain at the heart of everything we do.”

To encourage more Borders residents to become connected, new customers can take advantage of GoFibre’s “Get Installed for Christmas” commitment which promises full connection by Christmas if they sign up before November 30th.
