Commsworld has transformed Northumberland County Council’s digital infrastructure with the recent completion of its core network build construction, ensuring residents benefit from better connectivity.
GoFibre is teaming up with Aberdeenshire Council with a special community event in Laurencekirk, inviting locals to the drop-in session to find out about the benefits of full fibre broadband.
Taking place at Mearns Community Campus in early December, the Scottish altnet provider and Aberdeenshire Council’s digital engagement team are helping residents find out key information about full fibre.
Visitors can get expert advice about their local broadband connectivity options as well as discussing important topics such as digital inclusion and accessibility of vital services.
With 9,000 homes and businesses in Aberdeenshire now able to access GoFibre’s broadband network, and more than 1,300 premises in Laurencekirk ready to be connected, the drop-in session looks to help residents and businesses to boost their digital experience.
Liam Flanagan, Delivery Manager at GoFibre, said: “Our goal is to bridge the digital divide and ensure that everyone has access to high-speed internet.”
Jack Rigby, Digital Stakeholder Lead Officer, Aberdeenshire Council, said: "This event is an opportunity for the community to learn more about the benefits of full fibre broadband and how it can enhance their connectivity.
"By collaborating on initiatives like this, we can ensure that our communities are not left behind and that everyone has access to the support needed to take advantage of full fibre broadband."
